William C. McCleary, 89, of Clendenin died November 25, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House. He was the son of the late Jason and Maggie Shamblin McCleary. Will was a Korean War Army Veteran, 32nd degree Mason, fifty year member of Clendenin Masonic Lodge number 126 AF & AM, fifty year member of Scottish Rite, Fifty year member Beni Kedem Shrine, VFW Post 8516, American Legion Post 61, Pipeline Local Union 798 Tulsa, OK and a member of Clendenin United Methodist Church. He is survived by: wife, Kelen of 62 years; brother. John McCleary of Geneva, OH; nieces, Gwynn Woods of S. Charleston, Nancy McDerment of Charleston, Barbara Benton of Camp Creek, Patricia Smithers of Trenton, FL and Karen Young of Bullhead City, AZ; nephews, Richard Hensley of Clendenin and Richard Bazan of Utica, NY; several great nieces and nephews; Kelen’s nieces; Julie Rondeau of Moncks Corner, SC, Patrice Widby of Knoxville, TN and Amanda Nafziger of Knoxville, TN; special friends, John, Judy and Chris Wanner. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 1, 2016 at Matics Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Feguson officiating. Burial will be in Clendenin Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 61 performing Military Graveside Rites along with Masonic Lodge number 126 performing Masonic Rites. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday November 30. 2016 at Matics Funeral Home. The family suggests donations be made to the Beni Kedem Shrine Charleston, WV.
