Richard Keith Shamblin, 68, of Clendenin went home to be with the Lord Tuesday August 30, 2016 at CAMC General after a long illness. He was the son of the late Darl Clinton Shamblin and Fannie Maxine Griffin Shamblin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Mae Harper Shamblin; sister, Anna Faye Welch; and brother, Rodney Shamblin. Richard was a Vietnam Army Veteran and was a retired employee of Union Carbide. He is survived by: daughter, Donna Lynn Shamblin of Clendenin; son, Dana Richard (Kellie) Shamblin of St. Albans, WV; brother, Ronald Shamblin of Elkview, WV; grandchildren, Kendra Elizabeth Shamblin and Jacob Richard Shamblin. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday September 2, 2016 at Thorofare Community Church Clendenin with Pastor Claude Junior Holly officiating. Burial will be in Buck Shamblin Cemetery Clendenin. Visitation will be Thursday September 1, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thorofare Community Church Clendenin. Matics Funeral Home Inc. Clendenin is in charge of the arrangements.
