Doris Jean Abbott Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Doris Jean Abbott, 80, of Elkview, WV passed away May 11, 2022 at home. She was the daughter of the late William “Stot” and Nettie Hively Withrow. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Raymond E. Cavendar; son, Michael Edward Cavender; brothers, Willard Withrow, Arlie Withrow and Patrick “Cotton” Withrow; sisters, Juanita Smith and Virginia Arrington. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was most happy taking care of her flowers, thrift shopping and reminiscing about old times. She worked hard throughout her life and sacrificed much to make others happy. She retired from Goodwill with 15 years of service and also worked at Walton Thriftway and the Trading Post. She is survived by: husband, Brice Ray Abbott; sons, Kelly Joe Cavender of Lewisburg, NC and Tony Cavender of Elkview; daughter, Machell (Rusty) Bennett of Chloe, WV; step-daughters, Tammy Baker of Jacksonville, FL and Jill Benware of Syracuse, NY; step-son, Jeremy Abbott of Romney, WV; grandchildren, Jessica Cavender, Kimberly Cavender, Jessica E. Cavender, Brandon Cavender, Ryan Westfall, Joshua Westfall, Bronson Bennett, Hayden Bennett and Sophie Benett; 4 great grandchildren, Logan, Matthew, Kinsley and Kaylee. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Charleston Hospice and Nurses for their thoughtfulness and love these last few weeks. At her request there will be no services.
