Basil Smith Jennings, 92, of Elkview went home to be with the Lord Tuesday April 19, 2022 at Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness. He was the son of the late Roy Oscar Jennings and Leoda Smith Jennings. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Osbourne, Peggy Nunley, Demp Jennings, Bernard Jennings, Patricia McCormick, Marie Shafer and Bette Wolfe. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a carpet installer. Basil is survived by: his loving wife of 73 years, Juanita Jennings; children, Tom (Shelia) Jennings, Joyce (Dudley) Burgess, Terri Davis, Susan (Michael) Judy and David Jennings; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be noon Saturday April 23, 2022 at Rock Memorial Cemetery Elkview, WV with Nathael Messinger officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at maticsfuneralhome.com.
